Obituary of Clayton L. Humphreville, Sr.

Herkimer-Ilion – Clayton L. Humphreville, Sr., age70, of Herkimer, formerly of Ilion, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, August 15, 2021, at St. Luke’s Medical Center, New Hartford. He was born on July 24, 1951, in Utica, the son of Charles and Myrtle (Darling) Humphreville and attended Ilion schools. On May 1, 1970, he was married to Barbara Franklin, in Utica. Clayton was employed as a paver at Humphreville Paving Co., Ilion, for many years. He was a member of Salisbury Ridge Runners and a former member of the Herkimer Polish Club. Surviving family members include his wife, Barb; his daughter, Arlene Vibbard and her husband, Cory, of Ilion; his sons, Clayton Humphreville, Jr., of Herkimer, Tom Humphreville, of Frankfort and Brian Humphreville, of Herkimer; two grandchildren, Jacy and Derrick Humphreville; his twin brother, Chuck Humphreville and his wife, Eileen, of Ilion; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Myrtle; and two brothers, Louie Humphreville and Stanley Ham. Friends and relatives are invited to Clayton’s Celebration of Life and Prayer Service, on Sunday, August 29, 2021, at 1:00 p.m., at the Herkimer VFW, 131 Mohawk St., Herkimer. An informal gathering of family, relatives and friends will be held immediately after the formal service, to give friends and relatives an opportunity to pay their final respects and offer condolences to the immediate family, along with food and refreshments, from about 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at the Herkimer VFW.
