Mr. John D. “Jack” Manore, age 81, formerly of Frankfort and currently of North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the Salisbury VA Medical Center. At the time of his passing he head the love and support of his devoted family at his side. Born in Utica, NY on July 25, 1940, John was the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (VanNort) Manore. His childhood years were spent in Frankfort and he was a graduate from St. Mary’s Academy in Little Falls. Jack proudly served his country for four years in the United States Air Force, spending a year in Thule, Greenland before returning stateside to Greenville, Mississippi. John’s career was spent with United Cable Systems in Denver, Colorado where he worked for thirty-four years, before branching out to start his own fiber optic cable company, Wide Open West, also in Denver. His journey led him to various places before finally settling back in Frankfort. Jack’s various hobbies and interests included coin collecting, camping with his family, sports, NASCAR racing and of course, his trips to the casino. Above all else, Jack would be remembered by his loved ones and friends as the ultimate jokester who had a great sense of humor and loved making others laugh. Even if you didn’t know the story was true or false…it was still bound to put you in stitches! He leaves behind his four children, John Manore, Jr., Steven Manore, Jeffrey and Jamie Manore and Malissa Brown; his grandchildren, Lauren, Kayla, Ian, Rocco, Shae and Hunter; his seven siblings, Dorothy and Hank Phillips, Joseph Manore, Michael and Suzanne Manore, Loretta and Steve Terri, Susan and John Migliore, Robert Manore and Margaret VanSlyke; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jack’s earthly remains were laid to rest on February 16, 2022 at the Salisbury National Cemetery Annex with full military honors.
